Pantone’s 2012 color of the year was Tangerine Tango.

These colors are also pretty swell:

Which means I need a new set of shades. What are your thoughts on these 4 beauties?

Clockwise from the top:

I got excited when I saw this picture because I love the look AND because I have all of the items to put it together myself. Even the bike! And my GAP denim jacket that I’ve owned since high school.
I’m off to go pump air into my tires.

I spent my afternoon on Saturday splitting this pitcher of mojitos with Dan in our yard. It was refreshing and crisp and didn’t even taste strong, although it got the job done for a little afternoon drinking.

I used Bethenny Frankel’s recipe and multiplied it by 4 to make a pitcher.

Ingredients:

  • 2 limes
  • 4 cups ice
  • 6 tbsp. lime juice
  • 2 tsp. gently warmed honey
  • 8 oz. clearm rum
  • 16 oz. club soda
  • mint and lime for garnish

Click here for preparation directions. I prepared this in my new Crate & Barrell pitcher, which is great for making a batch of drinks and taking them out to the yard for lounging and sipping.

What’s your favorite summer cocktail?

My parents were just in Italy and brought us back a bottle of Limoncello, which is a sweet lemony liqueur. They said that they had it drizzled over strawberries on the Amalfi Coast. Fortunately, my favorite neighbor brought over some of his homegrown strawberries yesterday evening and we tried out this delicious treat.

I’m not sure where you’re going to find Limoncello to test this out as they don’t seem to sell it in the U.S. too much, but you could try making your own.

I love these eyeshadow sets mostly for their cheeky names. On the left is The Honeymoon Phase, featuring Giddy and Do Not Disturb. On the right is The Grande Finale with the shades Standing O and Climax.

These sell for $20 a set at Sephora.

Crate & Barrel makes this great set of cocktail glasses, which are only $2.50 each! The decanter is sold separately at for $9.95. Dan suggested that this would be perfect for mixing a batch of blood red orange juice and vodka for serving on a hot summer evening.

Warning: The glasses only hold 8 oz., so you can expect a stiff drink if you let me mix one for you.

Sometimes Dan is the coolest cat around. Usually around May 15 he is the coolest of all the cats. Yesterday he presented me with this awesome watch, which isn’t really so much a watch, but a Nike+ SportBand that tracks your distance, pace, and time during a run. This will be so much better than running with an iPhone strapped to my arm.

What do you use to track your running progress?

My hair is still growing and you are still welcome to compliment its length, lusciousness, or both. A few more inches and I’ll be able to test out this Mermaid Braid.

Any day now.
